The Seattle Mariners and the Cincinnati Reds meet Thursday in MLB action from Great American Ball Park. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. Here’s a Reds vs Mariners prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Reds vs Mariners pick.

Seattle Mariners Betting Preview

Seattle opened up the season with a matchup versus the Oakland Athletics, notching two wins in a four-game series for a split. The Mariners then fell in two of three to the Detroit Tigers ahead of finishing on the wrong end of a sweep by the San Francisco Giants. Seattle would then take a series win versus the Houston Astros ahead of a sweep of the Texas Rangers over the weekend. In the Tuesday opener versus the Reds, Seattle had leads 2-0 and 4-2 at certain points in the game but ultimately ended up losing 8-4 after surrendering four runs in the fifth inning. Dylan Moore came away with two homers, four RBI and three hits, though.

On Wednesday in game two, the Mariners put up one run in five different innings on the way to 10 team hits in a 5-3 win. Cal Raleigh put up a pair of solo home runs in the victory. Starter Bryce Miller posted 5.0 clean frames with three hits, two walks and eight strikeouts to his credit.

In the starter slot for the finale, Seattle will send out Bryan Woo. This year Woo is 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA in three starts. He’s got 18 strikeouts in 19.0 innings total. Woo is 15-8 with a 3.39 ERA in 43 career starts at the MLB level.

Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

Over on the Reds’ side, they lost two of the three games versus the San Francisco Giants in their first series of 2025. Cincinnati lost again in two of three versus the Texas Rangers, then fell in three of their four games versus the Milwaukee Brewers. The Reds finally took a series with two victories in three games versus the San Francisco Giants, and would keep it going with wins in all three weekend games versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. On Tuesday Cincinnati managed three big innings on the way to nine team hits in the victory. Austin Hays came away with a homer and four RBI, while Gavin Lux had four hits, a run and two RBI of his own. Starter Nick Lodolo lasted 4.2 innings with four earned on five hits and a walk.

In the Wednesday matchup the Reds also posted 10 team hits but couldn’t score outside of the seventh inning. Christian Encarnacion-Strand had one run and two RBI. Nick Martinez put up 4.2 innings in the start, giving up three earned on seven hits and three walks.

Cincinnati will send out Brady Singer in the starting pitcher role Thursday. This year so far Singer is 3-0 with a 3.18 ERA in three starts across 17.0 total innings. Over his MLB career Singer is 39-44 with a 4.25 ERA in 130 games (127 starts).

Reds vs Mariners Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Reds. Singer is off to a very nice start so far this year with wins over each of his first three games. After shutting out the Rangers in his debut, Singer has since notched six earned runs on 11 hits and four walks combined over 10.0 innings in wins versus the Brewers and Pirates. As for Woo, he’s got one shaky start this year (four earned in 6.0 innings during a no-decision versus the Giants). Otherwise Woo has 13.0 combined innings with just two earned in a pair of wins over the A’s and Rangers.

Cincinnati had a pretty well-rounded offensive evening on Wednesday but couldn’t cash in on anything outside of the sixth inning. The Reds need to finish the job at the plate in the finale—as well as get a better pitching performance—if they’re going to win.
