The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres meet Tuesday in MLB action from Petco Park. Los Angeles is fresh off a weekend series versus the Cardinals. The Dodgers won two of those three games. As for San Diego, they took on the Rockies over the weekend and won two of three as well. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

The Dodgers looked pretty rough in the Friday opener versus the Cardinals, limping to an 11-0 blowout loss. Los Angeles got it back on Saturday however, taking a 6-2 win. In the Sunday rubber match, the Dodgers kept it going and took the series with a 4-1 win.

Tyler Anderson will take the mound for the Dodgers on Tuesday. Over his 28 games (26 starts) so far Anderson is 15-4 with a 2.52 ERA. In 167.2 innings total he has 47 earned on 136 hits and 34 walks with 125 Ks.

Over on the Padres’ side, they likewise lost their first game of the weekend series, falling 4-3 to the Rockies. San Diego would win on Saturday with a 9-3 result to even it up. In the Sunday finale, the Padres won again in a 13-6 outcome to take the series.

Blake Snell will be the starter for the Tuesday game. In 22 starts so far Snell is 8-9 with a 3.62 ERA. In 117.0 innings total he has 47 earned, 99 hits, 47 walks and 159 Ks.

The Dodgers are 45-13 in the last 58 versus the NL West and 61-19 in their last 80 overall. LA is 45-15 in their last 60 after a win.

Meanwhile, the Padres are 4-0 in their last four Tuesday games and 15-2 in their last 17 after an off day. San Diego is 7-2 in their last nine overall.

PICK: I’m probably staying Dodgers here, but I could go either way. Both pitchers have been great over their last two outings. Anderson has 13.0 combined innings with zero earned on seven hits and four walks—he’s got a tough-luck loss versus Arizona mixed in there, though. As for Snell, he’s 2-0 in his last pair with 14.0 innings, one earned, six hits and two walks. This should be a really fun starter battle regardless, and I imagine it’ll be close.
