San Francisco Giants Team Preview
The San Francisco Giants come into the 2024 season looking to shake off a frustrating 2023 season, finishing the year 79-83 on the year and 4th in the NL West, missing the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. The Giants decided to keep a lot of the same pieces in house, with key pieces like LaMonte Wade Jr. back after logging 135 games for the Giants last year, hitting .256 with 17 homers and 45 RBIs. Thairo Estrada’s also back after hitting .271 with 14 homers and 49 RBIs with team-highs of 26 doubles and 23 stolen bases. Logan Webb will get the start on the mount for the Giants here and was 11-13 with a 3.25 ERA and 194 strikeouts last season. The Giants will meet the Dodgers, Padres, and Nationals in the three series following this one.

Giants vs. Padres Prediction
I’m on the Giants here. I just haven’t been sold on Yu Darvish as a starter for a couple of years now even though he’s had flashes here and there of looking like the old Yu Darvish. Logan Webb’s been a solid piece of the Giants rotation for some time now and he was really good in his action against the Padres last year while the same can’t necessarily be said for Darvish against the Giants. I think the Giants are going to be a team to keep an eye on this year, and as such, I’ll buy into them on opening day. Give me the Giants here.
