The Atlanta Braves and the San Francisco Giants meet in MLB action from Oracle Park on Tuesday night.
The Atlanta Braves will be looking to rebound from a 3-2 loss to San Francisco in Monday’s series opener. Matt Olson has 131 hits with a .242 batting average and a team-high 41 doubles while Marcell Ozuna has 96 hits with 15 doubles, 21 home runs and 50 RBIs. Austin Riley has 153 hits with 36 doubles, 36 home runs and 90 RBIs and Dansby Swanson also has 84 RBIs of his own as well as a .283 batting average and 157 hits this season. Kyle Wright will start here and is 17-5 with a 3.23 ERA and 154 strikeouts this season.
The San Francisco Giants will try to build on their win over the Braves to kick off the series on Monday. Joc Pederson leads the Giants with 22 home runs and 62 RBIs while Wilmer Flores has 108 hits with 65 RBIs of his own, 26 doubles and a .233 batting average. Thairo Estrada has 113 hits with 20 doubles and 55 RBIs as well this season. Mike Yastrzemski also has 26 doubles of his own as well as a .211 batting average on the year. Jakob Junis will start here and is 4-5 with a 3.98 ERA and 80 strikeouts this season.
Atlanta is 13-4 in their last 17 road games and 44-7 in their last 51 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. San Francisco is 2-5 in their last 7 games overall and 2-6 in their last 8 game two matchups while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall.
I get the reasoning for backing the Giants here after they controlled much of that game against Atlanta on Monday. However, the Braves made it interesting late and I think they’ll actually come through on Tuesday. The Braves can’t afford anymore slip ups if they want to win the NL East title and potentially earn a first-round bye, and with Kyle Wright who has been one of their best all season long, I think Atlanta rebounds and gets revenge on Tuesday. Give me the Braves here.
