The Texas Rangers and the San Francisco Giants meet Sunday in MLB action from Oracle Park. This will be the finale in a three-game weekend series. Texas Rangers 

The Rangers scored both their runs in the sixth inning Friday and it was just enough to prevail in a 2-1 victory. Both Nathaniel Lowe and Mitch Garver provided homers for the RBI. On Saturday in game two Texas scored three runs in both the fourth and ninth innings in a 9-3 win. Mitch Garver led the way with three RBI and three hits. Ezequiel Duran added three hits and two RBI. 

For the starter job Sunday the Rangers are sending out Dane Dunning. In his 25 games (17 starts) this year Dunning is 9-4 with a 3.21 ERA and 85 Ks in 120.2 innings. Dunning is 2-3 with a 4.24 ERA in his last seven starts combined.

Over on the Giants’ side, they had just three hits in the Friday loss. Thairo Estrada had the lone RBI, and Heliot Ramos plated the run. On Saturday in game two, San Francisco gave up 16 hits. Patrick Bailey, Michael Conforto and Heliot Ramos each had an RBI in the defeat. Thairo Estrada had two hits as well. 

Logan Webb will take the mound for the start on Sunday. Over his 24 starts in 2023 Webb is 9-9 with a 3.38 ERA and 151 Ks in 154.1 innings. Webb has gone 2-2 over his last seven starts with a 3.27 ERA and 45 Ks in 44.0 innings.

I’m going to take a stab on the Giants here. Webb is pitching well lately; he’s got six earned in 20.0 innings across his last three starts combined, going 1-1 in that time. Dunning hasn’t been too bad either; he’s given up seven earned in 18.2 innings total over his last three starts. I like both guys to keep things honest over the first several innings. On Saturday San Francisco had a rough evening on the mound and things weren’t much better at the plate. The Giants need to get better on both sides in this finale but I think the Giants have a solid shot at it.
