The Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles meet in an AL East division matchup in MLB action from Camden Yards on Friday night.

The Tampa Bay Rays come into this one looking to build on their 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners from Wednesday afternoon. Randy Arozarena went 2 for 4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs while Mike Zunino added a solo home run and Joey Wendle had an RBI as well to cap off the scoring for the Rays in the win. Brandon Lowe chipped in a double as well as the Rays had just five hits as a team in the victory. Josh Fleming got the win to improve to 9-5 on the year after allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six over five innings of work. Ryan Yarbrough will start here and is 6-4 with a 4.58 ERA and 94 strikeouts this season.

The Baltimore Orioles will attempt to bounce back from a disappointing showing in a 10-3 loss at the hands of the New York Yankees in their last game. Ryan Mountcastle led the O’s with two RBIs including a solo home run while Austin Hays had an RBI as well to cap off Baltimore’s scoring in the loss. Cedric Mullins had a pair of hits while Ramon Urias and Pedro Severino each had a base hit as well to finish off the Oriole offense as Baltimore had just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Matt Harvey allowed two runs on three hits with a pair of walks over four innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Cole Sulser ended up with the loss, falling to 3-4 on the year as a result. John Means will start here and is 5-3 with a 2.84 ERA and 79 strikeouts this season.

Tampa Bay is 38-13 in their last 51 games following a win and 4-1 in their last 5 road games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 Friday games. Baltimore is 23-53 in their last 76 games overall and 16-40 in their last 56 division games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a left-handed starter.

I feel bad for a guy like John Means because he’s really the only good thing going for this Oriole starting rotation but the Orioles just aren’t playing well enough to really warrant the value. On the other hand, the Rays are the better team but I’m always weary of laying juice with this team, especially on the road, when Tampa Bay is more than capable of laying an egg at any given time. I’m going to side with the under here as I’m expecting another quality outing from Means and for this one to be a relatively low-scoring affa
