The Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays meet in game two of their three-game AL East division series in MLB action from Tropicana Field on Saturday.

Blue Jays Snag Another Key Win

The Toronto Blue Jays cranked out another solid victory, taking out the Rays by a final score of 6-2 on Friday, improving their record to 86-68 on the year, holding on to the second Wild Card spot in the American League. Bo Bichette leads the Jays with 162 hits and a .302 batting average along with 19 home runs, while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has a team-high 24 home runs and 91 RBIs this season. Matt Chapman’s also contributed a team-best 39 doubles for Toronto as well as having the unfortunate distinction of leading the Jays with 159 strikeouts on the year. George Springer also has 20 home runs this season. Hyun-Jin Ryu will start for the Blue Jays here and is 3-3 with a 2.62 ERA and 35 strikeouts this season.

Rays Drop Opener

The Tampa Bay Rays suffered a frustrating loss in Friday’s opener but will try to get some revenge here after falling to 94-61 on the year with the defeat, sitting 1.5 games back of the Orioles atop the AL East. Isaac Paredes leads the Rays with 29 home runs while Jose Siri has 25 home runs with Paredes also chipping in a team-high 95 RBIs while Randy Arozarena has 83 RBIs this season. Yandy Diaz also has a team-high 166 hits with a .322 batting average and a .402 OBP as well on the season. Zack Littell will start for the Rays here and is 3-6 with a 4.12 ERA and 67 strikeouts this season.

I’m backing the Blue Jays here. Right now the Rays are ahead and are mathematically trying to catch the O’s, but Toronto’s fighting for their playoff lives and the AL Wild Card is a dog fight for the final two spots. Tampa Bay has already clinched a playoff spot, so they have that going for them, but I just feel that Toronto’s been on a tear and are playing like they want it right now. Give me the Jays.
