The Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers meet Saturday in MLB action from Globe Life Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Texas Rangers vs Kansas City Royals Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Kansas City Royals will send out Michael Wacha for the start here and Wacha is 4-5 with a 4.24 ERA and 56 strikeouts this season. In his career, Wacha is 0-2 with a 5.79 ERA and 11 strikeouts against Texas. Jon Gray will start for Texas and is 2-3 with a 3.31 ERA and 65 strikeouts this season. In his career, Gray is 1-1 with a 2.18 ERA and 21 strikeouts against the Royals.

Kansas City Royals Recap

The Kansas City Royals will be looking to bounce back after starting the series on the wrong foot once again following a 6-2 loss to the Texas Rangers in Friday’s series opener. The loss was far from ideal for a Royals team trying to snap out of a road funk and a series losing streak with losses to the A’s, Dodgers and Yankees over the last week and a half.

Royals Trying To Regain Footing

Entering Friday’s matchup, Bobby Witt Jr. leads the Royals with 99 hits including 12 home runs, 53 RBIs and team-highs of 7 triples and 20 doubles with 21 stolen bases. Salvador Perez also has 11 home runs with 45 RBIs and 15 doubles. Nelson Velazquez also has a team-high 61 strikeouts while Maikel Garcia has 5 home runs, 39 RBIs and 17 stolen bases along with 3 triples and 14 doubles this season. Vinnie Pasquantino has 20 doubles with 7 homers and 46 RBIs of his own on the year.

Why the Kansas City Royals will win

  • The Royals have won each of their last six day games against AL West opponents that held a losing record.
  • The Rangers have lost seven of their last eight home games against American League opponents following a win.
  • The Rangers have failed to cover the run line in seven of their last eight day games against teams that held a winning record.
  • The Royals have covered the run line in six of their last seven day games against AL West opponents that held a losing record.

Texas Rangers Recap

The Texas Rangers will try to build some momentum after a convincing win to start the series, bouncing back from their disappointing showings in back-to-back series losses against the Mets and Mariners over the last week.

Rangers Starting The Climb Back To .500

Going into Friday’s action, Marcus Semien leads the Rangers with 75 hits along with 14 doubles, 11 home runs and 40 RBIs while Adolis Garcia has 13 home runs and 40 RBIs with 11 doubles as well as 6 stolen bases. Evan Carter also has 5 home runs with 15 RBIs while Jonah Heim has 6 homers and 31 RBIs and Josh Smith also has a team-high 17 doubles. Corey Seager also has a team-high 14 home runs with 35 RBIs of his own this season.

Why the Texas Rangers will win

  • The Royals have lost seven of their last eight day games against the Rangers following a road loss.
  • The Rangers have won each of their last five home games against AL Central opponents following a home win.
  • The Royals have failed to cover the run line in eight of their last nine games against American League opponents.
  • The home team has covered the run line in each of the Royals’ last five games.

Texas Rangers vs Kansas City Royals Prediction

I’m on the Rangers here. I think that the Royals will be fine once they get back home, but for right now it’s hard to feel good about what Kansas City is doing as this Royals team just has fallen down and can’t get back up when it comes to playing on the road. Jon Gray had a rough start last time out, but he’s still a reasonable option in this rotation and I don’t know if this is the best spot for Wacha to make his return to the rotation. Give me Texas.
