The White Sox lost to the Twins 10-2 in both the Thursday and Friday games over the weekend, but bounced back with a 7-6 win in Saturday’s game three. Eloy Jimenez (two RBI) and Gavin Sheets (three RBI) each had a homer in the win. In the finale Chicago gave up three runs in the fifth during a 4-0 loss. Andrew Benintendi and Trayce Thompson each notched two hits in the losing effort.
In the starting role for Monday’s game, Chicago will send out Mike Clevinger. This year in 21 starts Clevinger is 7-8 with a 3.61 ERA and 101 Ks in 114.2 innings. Clevinger is 3-3 with a 3.43 ERA over his last seven starts.

I’ll stick with the White Sox here. Clevinger started out the month of September in rough fashion, giving up eight earned on 12 hits in 4.0 innings during a loss to Detroit. That said, Clevinger is 1-1 over his last two starts with 13.0 innings, two earned runs, nine hits and zero walks total. I like him to keep it going on Monday. In Sunday’s finale matchup Chicago couldn’t find any success at all on six team hits. That said, the pitching was really solid overall (outside the three-run fifth) and the Sox only used one bullpen arm (Luis Patino for 3.0 frames). I like Chicago to rebound in this opener.
