The Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Yankees meet on Tuesday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. This will be the first installment in a three-game series this week. Here’s a Yankees vs Diamondbacks prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Yankees vs Diamondbacks pick.

Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

Arizona played four games against the Chicago Cubs over the weekend in their opening set. The Diamondbacks lost the first game 10-6 back on Thursday, but then came back for an 8-1 Friday victory in game two. Arizona’s Eugenio Suarez finished with two homers and four RBI in the big win, while both Pavin Smith (two runs; RBI) and Alek Thomas (run) each had three hits.

On Saturday, Arizona slipped back into the loss column. After an early run in the second inning and a brief lead, the Diamondbacks gave up four unanswered runs and couldn’t come back in an eventual 4-3 loss. Arizona got a homer and two RBI from Suarez this time, while Brandon Pfaadt logged 6.0 innings with three earned on six hits and a walk as a starter.

On Sunday, in the finale, the Diamondbacks were able to finish off the series with a victory. Arizona was in major trouble with a 6-2 deficit heading into the bottom of the eighth inning, though. After a whopping eight runs in that frame, the Diamondbacks had the comeback victory 10-6. Alek Thomas (two runs), Gerlado Perdomo (run), and Lourdes Gurriel (run) each had two hits and two RBIs along the way.

For the starting gig on Tuesday, the Diamondbacks will go with Corbin Burnes. Last year, Burnes went 15-9 with a 2.92 ERA in 32 starts. He managed to strike out 181 batters in 194.1 innings total. Burnes has a career record of 60-36 with a 3.19 ERA in 199 games (138 starts).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they posted a nice opening series against the Milwaukee Brewers this past weekend. New York kicked things off with a 4-2 Thursday victory, thanks in part to solo homers from Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe. Saturday’s game was a wild one, with the Yankees exploding for 16 runs across the first four innings alone on the way to 16 hits (and five errors) in a 20-9 blowout victory. Aaron Judge had a whopping three homers, four runs, four hits, and eight RBI along the way.

On Sunday, in the finale, the Yankees got off to another hot start with the bats, posting a 5-1 lead across the first three innings in a 12-3 victory to finish off the sweep. Jazz Chisholm led the way with two homers, three runs, three hits, and five RBI.

It’ll be Will Warren in the starter slot for the Yankees on Tuesday. Over his regular-season career, Warren is 0-3 with a 10.32 ERA in six games (five starts). He’s got 29 strikeouts over 22.2 total innings during that time.

Yankees vs Diamondbacks Prediction

I’ve got to keep leaning toward the Yankees. New York has put on an absolutely masterful offensive showing so far this year, especially in game two’s wild victory. That said, the big bats have masked some pitching woes for the Yankees; they gave up 13 hits and nine runs in the Saturday game alone. Warren had an okay spring this year outside of a fairly inflated 5.09 ERA, going 4-1 over seven games (six starts). A quality outing here would be great—or at least a few good innings.

On Sunday, New York again showcased those streamlined bats, bagging another four home runs in the game. This time, the bullpen held strong, backing up Marcus Stroman (4.2 innings; three earned) with 4.1 frames of clean ball, one hit, one walk, and seven Ks. It’s been a stellar start for the Bronx Bombers, and I like them to keep it going.
