The San Francisco Giants and the New York Yankees meet Sunday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. This will be the final installment in a three-game weekend series. Here’s a Yankees vs Giants prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Yankees vs Giants pick.

San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

The Giants kicked off their year with a series win over the Cincinnati Reds, taking two of three games in that one. San Francisco kept it going versus the Houston Astros with a three-game sweep, then took all three games versus the Seattle Mariners. The Giants suffered their first series loss of the season this week however, dropping two of three versus the Reds. The lone win came 8-6 on Wednesday. In the Friday opener versus New York, San Francisco scored five runs in the first inning and three more in the fifth on the way to a rain-shortened (six innings) victory by a margin of 9-1. Starter Robbie Ray lasted 4.0 frames with the one earned run.

On Saturday the Giants briefly had the score tied 2-2 for a few innings but then gave up five runs in the fifth on the way to an 8-4 loss. Wilmer Flores had four RBI with a homer and two hits. Willy Adames added two hits with a run. Jordan Hicks had some issues in the start, giving up seven earned on eight hits and three walks in 4.0 frames.

For Sunday’s starting pitcher role San Francisco will send out Logan Webb. This year so far Webb is 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA in three starts and 19.0 innings total. Over his career in the MLB regular season Webb is 56-42 with a 3.39 ERA in 149 games (146 starts).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they did great in their opening series, taking a three-game sweep over the Milwaukee Brewers. New York would then lose two of three versus the Arizona Diamondbacks, then win two of three versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Yankees got into more trouble versus the Detroit Tigers this week, falling in the first pair before a 4-3 win on Wednesday. In Friday’s matchup with the Giants, the Yankees got a lone RBI from Austin Wells, while Anthony Volpe scored the run. Starter Marcus Stroman was pulled after just 0.2 innings, giving up five earned on four hits and three walks.

On Saturday New York got two RBI ,two hits and two runs from Cody Bellinger. Paul Goldschmidt added two RBI with a run, and Jasson Dominguez had two hits with two RBI. Starting pitcher Will Warren had 5.0 frames with two earned on two hits and two walks.

It’ll be Carlos Rodon in the start Sunday for the finale. This year over his three starts Rodon is 1-2 with a 5.19 ERA in 17.1 frames total. Rodon is 76-65 with a 3.87 ERA in 201 career games (196 starts) at the MLB level.

Yankees vs Giants Prediction

I’m staying with the Giants. Webb was shaky in his first start versus the Reds on March 27, giving up three earned on six hits and three walks in 5.0 innings. Since then however, he’s been great over two more starts with 14.0 combined innings, one earned, nine hits and no walks for a 1-0 record. As for Rodon, he’s gone in the opposite direction. After a win versus the Brewers in his 2025 debut (5.1 innings; one earned), Rodon has since gone 0-2 with nine earned runs in 12.0 innings on seven hits and seven walks.

The Giants really only had one bad inning in the Saturday defeat—the five-run fifth that ruined Hicks’ day. Otherwise the bullpen wasn’t too bad outside of a spotty appearance by Lou Trivino (2.0 innings; one earned on two hits and a walk). A good outing from Webb in the Sunday finale would go a long way.
