The Line: New York Knicks -7 -- Over/Under: 207 See the Latest Odds
The New York Knicks hope to put a halt to their four-game skid tonight when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Knicks started the year winning six of their first seven games, but have since lost four straight after including an embarassing 103-80 loss against the Nets on Monday. Carmelo Anthony had his usual production of 26 points and 12 rebounds, while JR Smith added 15 points off the bench, but the defensive effort from the Knicks just wasn't there. They allowed the Nets to shoot 49 percent from the floor while shooting just 33 percent themselves so I'm actually a little surprised that the Knicks didn't lose by 30 or more. New York needs to improve on both ends of the floor or they'll sink further down the rankings, but the good news is that they'll have plenty of opportunities to do that because all of their next five games are at home against sub .500 opponents.

Meanwhile, the 76ers have lost seven of their last eight and will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight loss after losing to the Wizards by 107-99 on Monday. Michael Carter-Williams had a monster night of 31 points while Thaddeus Young added 18 points, but the 76ers just had no answer for Bradley Beal who fell just short of a triple-double for the Wizards. In the end, the final score is actually pretty misleading as the 76ers were down by as many as 21 points midway through the fourth quarter before the Wizards took the foot off the gas. With the loss, Philadelphia drop to 13-28 on the season and 5-16 on the road.
In ATS trends, the 76ers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall, while the Knicks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the 76ers are 4-11 ATS in the last 15 meetings overall but the road team is 14-5 ATS in the last 19 meetings.
Seemingly overnight, the Knicks have gone from one of the hottest teams to one of the coldest, but this game is as good a chance as any to turn things around. Surely, the Knicks can bounce back and beat the league-worst 76ers in their own building...right?
