The Brooklyn Nets and the Utah Jazz duke it out at the Vivint Arena on Friday night.

The Brooklyn Nets have really gone off the boil lately as they are now on a four-game losing streak after falling short to the struggling Suns in a 117-112 road loss last night. Kyrie Irving led the team with 30 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Nic Claxton added 20 points with 11 rebounds and three assists while Joe Harris and Seth Curry each scored 16 points. As a team, the Nets shot 52 percent from the field and 11 of 26 from the 3-point line which are good enough numbers to win most games, but it was all too little, too late as the Nets were already down by 24 points before they rallying with 38 points in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz are starting to turn things around with four wins in their last five outings and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after blowing past the Clippers in a 126-103 home win on Wednesday. Lauri Markkanen led the team with 34 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, Mike Conley added 17 points with nine assists while Jordan Clarkson chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 51 percent from the field and a sizzling 19 of 32 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start, pouring in 68 points in the first half to take the early lead which only grew as the game wore on.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 5-11-2 ATS in their last 18 games playing on zero days rest and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Jazz are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record, 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team above .600 and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.

Head to head, the Nets are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Utah and the Nets are 8-19 ATS in the last 27 meetings overall.

The Nets are still shorthanded with Kevin Durant still out, while the Jazz are still missing Kelly Olynyk with that ankle injury. The Nets had a chance to snap out of their funk against the shorthanded Suns last night, but they didn’t come out with the right intensity and were always playing from behind. The Jazz are starting to heat up again, they’re just about back to full health and they just routed the Clippers in a big win on Wednesday. The Jazz are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team above .600 and I think that trend continues here as they cover the spread at home.
