The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Portland Trailblazers at the Staples Center on Monday night.

The Portland Trailblazers will be hoping to build some momentum after making light work of the Suns in a 134-105 home win on Saturday. CJ McCollum led the team in scoring with 28 points on 10 of 19 shooting, Damian Lillard added 19 points with eight assists, Anfernee Simons scored 18 points off the bench while Norman Powell chipped in with 16 points in 12 minutes of action before leaving the game with left knee soreness which rules him out for Monday. As a team, the Trailblazers shot a healthy 54 percent from the field and 21 of 50 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 67 points in the first half to lead by 20 points at halftime, before pouring in another 39 points in the third quarter to put the game to bed early.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have yet to taste success this season as they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting stopped by the Grizzlies in a 120-114 home loss on Saturday. Paul George led the team with 41 points, 10 rebounds and four assists on 15 of 25 shooting, Reggie Jackson added 17 points while Eric Bledsoe chipped in with 12 points, seven assists, two steals and two blocks. As a team, the Clippers shot 43 percent from the field and 13 of 39 from the 3-point line as they stormed out to an early 13-point lead after pouring in 34 points in the second quarter, only to see that lead disappear once the Grizzlies went on a 28-9 run in the third quarter behind a scoring burst from Ja Morant and De’Anthony Melton. Terance Mann had a night to forget as he scored just three points on one of eight shooting.

Looking at the betting trends, the Trailblazers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Clippers are 47-23 ATS in their last 70 games following a loss and 6-1 ATS in their last seven Monday games.

Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall, the Trailblazers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Los Angeles and the Trailblazers are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall.

The Trailblazers needed a win after dropping their season opener to the Kings and they looked great in their rout of the Suns on Saturday. The Clippers are still searching for their first win after two tough, narrow losses to start their season but I think their struggles will continue in this one unless George can get more support from his teammates. The Trailblazers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games and I think they can stay hot with another win here.
