The Charlotte Hornets pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have lost three of their first five games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting thrashed by the Grizzlies in a 108-93 loss last night. Bismack Biyombo led the team in scoring with 16 points and 12 rebounds, LaMelo Ball added 15 points with six assists off the bench while Gordon Hayward chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Hornets shot just 40 percent from the field and nine of 31 from the 3-point line, but they didn’t match the intensity and commitment of the shorthanded Grizzlies and it cost them. Devonte Graham shot just one of 10 to finish with three points while Terry Rozier shot just one of 11 for his six points.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in great shape as they’ve won four of their first five games and they will be looking for a third straight victory after blowing past the shorthanded Magic in a 116-92 road win on Thursday. Seth Curry drained five 3-pointers on his way to 21 points, Joel Embiid added 21 points on seven of 11 shooting while Tobias Harris chipped in with 20 points on eight of 15 shooting. As a team, the 76ers shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 33 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to lead by double-digits early, before pushing the lead out to 38 points to allow them to rest their starters.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine road games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games playing on zero days rest. The 76ers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as a home favorite and 14-6 ATS in their last 20 home games.

Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Hornets are 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.

The Hornets were impressive in their two wins, but their backcourt duo of Graham and Rozier were terrible last night and it cost them. The Hornets are only 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as the 76ers should be far too good for these streaky Hornets.
