Portland Trail Blazers vs Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/12/21

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Portland Trailblazers collide at the Moda Center on Friday night.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in terrible form lately as they’ve lost seven of their past eight games and they will be hoping to snap a five-game skid after getting routed by the Nuggets in a 133-95 road loss on Wednesday. Jarrett Allen led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds on seven of 11  shooting, Taurean Prince added 12 points while JaVale McGee chipped in with eight points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 38 percent from the field and eight of 37 from the 3-point line as they never looked in the contest after getting outscored by 34-17 in the first quarter. Collin Sexton finished with just four points on one of nine shooting while Andre Drummond scored just four points on two of seven shooting.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trailblazers have been in great form lately as they’ve won five of their last seven games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after last night’s 118-114 home win last night. Damian Lillard led the team with 30 points and seven assists, Gary Trent Jr. added 19 points on seven of 12 shooting while Carmelo Anthony provided the spark off the bench with 20 points on nine of 15 shooting. As a team, the Trailblazers shot 43 percent from the field and 17 of 38 from the 3-point line, but this game was on their defense as they held the 76ers to just 21 points in the fourth quarter.

Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record, 0-6 ATS in their last six road games and 0-8 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Trailblazers are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games, 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 games against a team below .400 and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the under is 8-1 in the last nine meetings in Portland and the Cavaliers are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings in Portland.

The Cavaliers have looked terrible lately, so it’s not surprising that they’ve opened as the underdogs here, but the Trailblazers are playing this one on zero days’ rest and they’re still missing key players in Zach Collins, Jusuf Nurkic and CJ McCollum. This should be a close one, but I’m sticking with the more reliable and consistent Trailblazers to get the job done behind another big game from Lillard.
