The Orlando Magic and the Sacramento Kings duke it out at the Golden 1 Center on Friday night.
The Orlando Magic have been in a real slump lately as they’ve lost seven of their past eight games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after last night’s 111-105 road loss to the Warriors. Nikola Vucevic led the team with 25 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, Dwayne Bacon added 20 points, Terrence Ross scored 20 points while James Ennis chipped in with 17 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Magic shot just 39 percent from the field and 15 of 33 from the 3-point line as they poured in 36 points in the second quarter to lead by as many as 11 points, before getting rolled in the third quarter where they allowed 37 points.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have quietly been in great form as they’ve won seven of their past nine games, but they will be looking to bounce back here after having their four-game win streak snapped by the 76ers in a 119-111 home loss on Tuesday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 34 points and 10 assists, Buddy Hield added 21 points with eight rebounds and four assists, while Marvin Bagley chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Kings shot 42 percent from the field and 14 of 42 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from an early 14-point deficit to take the lead at halftime, only to go ice-cold in the fourth quarter where they managed just 20 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Kings are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the Magic are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
The Magic showed plenty of fight in last night’s narrow loss to the Warriors, but overall they’ve been struggling and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change anytime soon. The Kings have been flying under the radar lately and they are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record. This could go either way, but I’m sticking with the Kings over the struggling Magic who are playing on zero days’ rest.
