The Miami Heat play host to the Brooklyn Nets at the FTX Arena in NBA action on Sunday night.
The Brooklyn Nets have been on fire as they’ve won 17 of their last 19 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after beating the Pelicans in a 108-102 road win on Friday. Kevin Durant led the team with 33 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, Kyrie Irving added 19 points with five assists while Royce O’Neale chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Nets shot 43 percent from the field and 15 of 33 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and trailed in this one by as many as 15 points, before they dominated the second half by 55-38 to get back in the win column.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in pretty good form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will want to keep it going after beating the Suns in a 104-96 road win on Friday. Victor Oladipo led the team in scoring with 26 points on seven of 10 shooting off the bench, Bam Adebayo added 21 points with 11 rebounds while Jimmy Butler tallied 20 points with five rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Heat shot 42 percent from the field and 12 of 38 from the 3-point line which aren’t great numbers, but they played great defense to restrict the Suns to just 41 percent shooting from the field and six of 23 from the 3-point line. Gabe Vincent had a rough game as he scored just six points on two of 10 shooting while Haywood Highsmith finished scoreless on zero of six shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 Sunday games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Heat are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team above .600 and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall and the Nets are 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings in Miami.
The Nets have been the hottest team in the league for a while now and they don’t have a single player listed on the injury report, while the Heat are sweating on the availability of Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and Caleb Martin who are all questionable. The Nets have been money for bettors lately as they are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall, while the Heat are only 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 home games. This should be a close one, but I think the line is short enough for me to take the Nets in this spot.
