The Denver Nuggets invade the United Center to do battle with the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
The Denver Nuggets have been in pretty good shape as they’ve won six of their past 10 games and they will be looking to stay hot after routing the Thunder in a 126-96 road win on Saturday. Jamal Murray led the team with 26 points and five assists, Michael Porter Jr. added 20 points with 10 rebounds while Nikola Jokic racked up a triple-double of 19 points with 11 rebounds and 13 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 55 percent from the field and 15 of 31 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 38 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early double-digit lead, before pushing the lead out to as many as 37 points in the second half as they won easily.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in decent form as they’ve won five of their last seven games and because their last game was postponed, they haven’t played since their 106-97 home loss to the Suns on Friday. Zach LaVine led the team with 24 points, Coby White added 19 points with four assists while Thaddeus Young and Tomas Satoransky scored 13 and 12 points respectively. As a team, the Bulls shot 49 percent from the field and 12 of 31 from the 3-point line as they got off to a strong start to lead by as many as 16 points in the first half, before getting run down in the fourth quarter where they were outscored by 32-16.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record, 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings overall, the Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Chicago and the Nuggets are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Nuggets will be feeling pretty good after making light work of the Thunder in their last outing and they’ve been in decent form overall, but the Bulls have quietly been playing some of their best basketball of the season and they should be well rested as they haven’t played since Friday. The Nuggets are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and with the line so short, I’m banking on that trend to continue as the shorthanded Bulls don’t have troops to cover the Nuggets’ Jokic who should have a massive game here.
