The Orlando Magic invade the American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night.
The Orlando Magic will be looking to build some momentum after arresting a five-game slide after beating the Hornets in a 113-93 home win on Friday. Paolo Banchero led the team with 21 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, Mo Bamba added 19 points on eight of 12 shooting off the bench while Wendell Carter Jr. chipped in with 15 points, five rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Magic shot 49 percent from the field and 10 of 37 from the 3-point line, but this win was more about their defense as they never looked in trouble after holding the Hornets to just 11 points in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in rough shape as they’ve lost three of their first five games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting stopped in their tracks by the Thunder in a 117-111 overtime loss last night. Luka Doncic led the team with a triple-double of 31 points with 16 rebounds and 10 assists, Spencer Dinwiddie added 20 points on eight of 13 shooting while Dorian Finney-Smith and Dwight Powell each scored 13 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot just 40 percent from the field and eight of 40 from the 3-point line as they squandered an eight-point lead late in the fourth quarter, before coming up short in overtime to allow the Thunder to steal the game late.

The Magic were suffering through an ugly slide before upsetting the Hornets in a big win on Friday, while the Mavericks have yet to find their groove despite Doncic playing like he’s in midseason form. The Magic are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Dallas and I think that trend continues here as the Mavericks really need a solid win here to gain some confidence and get back on track.
