The Orlando Magic pay a visit to the Denver Nuggets at the Ball Arena on Monday night.
The Orlando Magic have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their past five games and they might still be tending to their burns after getting scorched by the Suns in a 132-105 road loss on Saturday. Jalen Suggs led the team in scoring with 20 points and 10 assists, Cole Anthony added 17 points, Chuma Okeke scored 15 points with 10 rebounds off the bench while Wendell Carter Jr. chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Magic shot just 42 percent from the field and 15 of 41 from the 3-point line as they allowed 36 points in the first quarter to fall behind by double-digits early and things only got worse as the game wore on as the Suns just never took their foot off the gas.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their last four games and they will be looking to stay hot after sneaking past the Raptors in a 110-109 road win on Saturday. Nikola Jokic led the team with 28 points, 15 rebounds and six assists on 10 of 16 shooting, Jeff Green added 19 points with five assists while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Nuggets shot 46 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they wrestled with the Raptors in a close contest until late in the fourth quarter where Bones Hyland and Nikola Jokic came through to escape with the narrow win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Nuggets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Denver, the Magic are 2-7-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and the Magic are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Denver.
The Magic will again be without Moritz Wagner, Markelle Fultz and RJ Hampton, while the Nuggets will be missing Michael Porter Jr again while Monte Morris and Zeke Nnaji are both listed as questionable. The Magic haven’t been ale to get anything going as four of their last five games have been blowout losses and they are only 2-7-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall. The Nuggets actually lost to the Magic by 108-103 earlier this season, but I think they get their revenge in this one behind a big game from Jokic.
