Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets Player Prop Picks 12-5-24

The Houston Rockets face the Golden State Warriors on December 5, 2024, at the Chase Center. The Rockets (15-7) have been one of the most consistent teams this season, with Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun contributing on both ends of the floor. However, Fred VanVleet’s availability remains questionable due to a knee injury.

The Warriors (12-8) aim to bounce back from recent struggles, relying on Stephen Curry to lead the charge. Defensive anchors like Draymond Green could also play a pivotal role. This should be a great matchup between two of the better teams in the Western Conference.

Jabari Smith Over 6.5 Rebounds

Jabari Smith Jr. has been averaging 6.8 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 NBA season. His rebounding splits are strong, with 1.9 offensive rebounds and 4.9 defensive rebounds. Smith has been active on the boards, contributing solidly to the Houston Rockets’ efforts. His performances have been highlighted by a few standout games, including multiple double-digit rebounding efforts.

Jabari Smith has stepped up in a big way for this Houston Rockets team on the boards. He’s coming off a seven-rebound game against the Sacramento Kings and a season-high 14-rebound game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has a favorable matchup against the Warriors who are allowing 54.7 rebounds per game to opposing teams which is the fourth most in the whole NBA. I expect Jabari Smith to have another solid night on the glass.

Draymond Green Over 8.5 Points

Draymond Green has been averaging 8.8 points per game so far this season. Over 19 games, he’s playing around 28.5 minutes per game. He has a solid shooting percentage of 43.3% from the field and has been effective from the free-throw line, hitting 60.4% of his attempts. Green also contributes significantly in other areas: he’s averaging 6.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 2.9 steals per game. His all-around game continues to be a key asset for the Golden State Warriors this season.

Green has cleared this line of 8.5 points in seven of his last nine games. He’s coming off a game against the Suns where he scored 13 points and in the game before that, he scored 10 points against the Thunder. Steph Curry will garner a lot of attention from this Rocket’s defense which will force other players on this Warriors team like Draymond Green to step up and contribute to the scoreboard.

Alperen Sengun Over 19.5 Points

Alperen Sengun has been impressive this season, demonstrating his scoring ability through a well-rounded offensive game. As of early December, he has been contributing solidly across games, averaging around 19 points per game. His efficiency has been notable, shooting over 50% from the field, including a respectable 40% from three-point range. He has also been effective at the free-throw line, with a percentage around 70%. In several games, he has posted high-scoring performances, including a 24-point game with 8 rebounds and another 22-point effort with 14 rebounds.

Sengun has been on fire lately scoring 20 plus points in five straight games. In what should be a close and competitive Western Conference battle I expect the Rockets to utilize Sengun in the paint against an undersized Warriors starting lineup. This is a spot where I want to ride the hot hand and take Sengun to have his six-straight 20-point games.
