The San Antonio Spurs are one of the coldest teams in the league as they are now on a 10-game losing streak after getting beaten by the Clippers in a 109-102 loss on Wednesday. Victor Wembanyama led the team with 22 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks, Jeremy Sochan added 19 points with seven assists while Devin Vassell chipped in with 18 points off the bench. As a team, the Spurs shot just 38 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line as they endured another slow start, scoring just 14 points in the first quarter which had them trailing for the entire contest.

Klay Thompson drained six 3-pointers to lead the team with 23 points, Dario Saric added 17 points off the bench while Stephen Curry chipped in with 16 points and six assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line, but they were never in the contest in this one after going ice-cold and getting outscored by 37-16 in the second quarter. Chris Paul scored just six points in 17 minutes of action before getting ejected after receiving his second technical foul.

The Spurs showed glimpses of their potential in the preseason, but they’ve really struggled so far this season and have predictably opened as heavy underdogs once again. The Warriors really haven’t been much better in recent games as they’re in a rut of their own, but they’re bound to turn things around sooner rather than later, especially with Thompson starting to contribute once again. The line is bigger than I’d like, but the Warriors are long overdue for a big win and cover at home and I think they get it in this one.
