The Money Team used to play under Team Fredette, but now they have a new identity after teaming up with Floyd Mayweather. The best player on this team is Tony Wroten, who was a first-team Pac-12 section in his only season with Washington and stated 34 games in the NBA. Austin Daye has 29 career NBA starts and was recently the Italian Cup Finals MVP. Willie Reed played in 152 NBA games and proved to be a decent backup center, mainly during his one season with the Miami Heat. The Money Team also has a pair of college studs in Kyle Wiltjer and Peyton Aldridge. Wiltjer averaged 18.6 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 51.4 percent from the field in two seasons with Gonzaga, while Aldridge averaged 16.7 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 38.7 percent from deep in four years with Davidson. The Money Team has a combination of experience and scoring, making them a dangerous squad.
Herd That are coming off a comfortable 15-point victory over the Peoria All-Stars where they scored 80 points. Jacorey Williams led Herd That with 22 points and nine rebounds while Zach Smith had 10 points and four rebounds. Jon Elmore chipped in nine points and 10 assists while OT Elmore had nine points and two assists. Herd That is an explosive offensive team that wants to push the pace and shoot a ton of threes. When those shots are falling, Herd That is capable of beating anybody in this tournament and a serious threat for the million dollars. However, Herd That can be a little too aggressive at times and few misses lead to easy transition points for the opponent and can create a comeback. Herd That has to be careful at times and find more consistent shot selection.
Herd That is not a team to take lightly in this tournament because of the amount of shooting they have and their aggressive offensive style. However, Herd That is also one of those teams that looks good when the shots are going in but can run into a cold stretch and I question if they have another way to win games. The Money Team is loaded with guys who have played on the highest level and have some knockdown shooters of their own in Wiltjer and Aldridge. The Money Team seem to have a little more balance to them and should have an advantage on the glass as well.
I’ll back TMT and lay whatever the line is…
