The Phoenix Suns have been in fine form as they’ve won 10 of their last 14 games overall and they will be feeling pretty good after running past the Lakers in a 125-108 road win on Monday. Dillon Brooks led the team with 33 points on 15 of 26 shooting, Collin Gillespie added 28 points with five assists while Mark Williams and Jordan Goodwin each scored 13 points. As a team, the Suns shot 57 percent from the field and 17 of 39 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Lakers from the start and dominated the second quarter by 35-21 to take control of the contest and they kept their foot on the gas until they led by as many as 25 points.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have continued their strong form as they’ve now won nine of their last 11 games after taking down the Kings in a 121-95 win on Wednesday. Alperen Sengun led the team with 28 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, Kevin Durant added 24 points with eight assists on nine of 16 shooting while Amen Thompson chipped in with 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Rockets shot 53 percent from the field and just five of 16 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and trailed going into halftime, before they absolutely dominated the second half by 70-43 to make it look like a walk in the park.

The Suns are going to be shorthanded for this one with Jalen Green and Devin Booker both ruled out already, while the Rockets are missing Tari Eason, Fred VanVleet and Dorian Finney-Smith. These teams met just last Monday and it was the Rockets who romped to a 114-92 win despite 29 points from Brooks and I can’t picture anything but a similar result with Booker sitting this one out. The Suns role players like Gillespie and Williams deserve credit for how they picked up the slack in their win on Monday, but I don’t think they have enough firepower to challenge this Rockets squad at the moment.
