Knicks vs Nets Player Prop Bets – Jalen Brunson Over 7.5 Assists (-110)
Jalen Brunson is the team’s top scorer (26.5 ppg) and top assist-maker (6.5 apg). Although the Nets allow the third-most points to the opposing point guards (26.9 pgg), the line on Brunson is 28.5 here, and I don’t like it. Brooklyn also allows 8.2 apg to the rival PGs, and Brunson has been pretty consistent with dishing out assists lately.
Over the past nine games, Brunson registered 8+ assists in six, including the last two against Toronto and Washington. Jalen displayed one of his worst offensive performances of the season the last time he met the Nets. He scored only 16 points but managed to add eight assists.
Brunson is red-hot offensively at the moment, scoring 29+ points in seven of the last eight. However, I don’t like backing such high lines (28.5), which is why I opted for assists. Maybe Brunson will have another bad shooting night against the Nets.
Nic Claxton Over 10.5 Rebounds (-122)
One of the best defensive centers in the NBA is averaging a double-double this season (12.5 ppg and 10.1 rpg). Brooklyn is 5th in the NBA in rebounds per game (46.0), and although the Knicks have the second-best record when it comes to allowing rebounds to the opponents, I am backing Nic Claxton to grab at least 11 here.
He managed to do so in seven consecutive games before recording just six in the latest one against the Clippers. Claxton averages 3.1 offensive rebounds per game, and with Mitchell Robinson out for the Knicks, I think Nic will get his chance for a few offensive boards.
The Nets are not playing well of late, but Claxton has been consistent, especially on defense. The only thing that could complicate this pick is potential foul trouble. That occurred to Claxton in the previous H2H against New York, when he had eight boards in 25 minutes. He averages 29.1 mpg this year.
