The New Orleans Pelicans look to have moved on from their slow start to the season as they are now aiming for a third straight victory after making light work of the Hawks in a 121-99 home win on Saturday. Saddiq Bey led the team in scoring with 25 points on nine of 13 shooting off the bench, Jeremiah Fears added 20 points with seven assists while Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy III each scored 15 points. As a team, the Pelicans shot a healthy 57 percent from the field and seven of 17 from the 3-point line as they swarmed the Hawks from the tipoff and dominated the first quarter by 35-18 which gave them more than enough of a cushion to cruise the rest of the way in this one.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been a real surprise package so far as they are now aiming for a perfect 7-0 start after blowing past the lowly Kings in a 136-105 home win on Saturday. Cameron Boozer led the way with 27 points and nine rebounds on eight of 14 shooting, Isaiah Stewart added 24 points on eight of nine shooting off the bench while GG Jackson chipped in with 21 points on seven of 10 shooting. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 55 percent from the field and a sizzling 19 of 38 from the 3-point line as they caught fire with 39 points in the second quarter to take an 11-point lead into halftime, before they poured in 42 points in the third quarter to put the game to bed early.

The Pelicans have ruled out Yves Missi and Jordan Poole again while the Grizzlies are keeping eyes on Scotty Pippen Jr and Quinten Post who are both questionable. The Pelicans are starting to heat up with a couple nice wins in a row and they looked great in their dominant win over the Hawks thanks to a big game from Bey off the bench, but they’re going to have to be at their best against this surging Grizzlies team who are still undefeated after six games. It wouldn’t be a major shock if the Pelicans were able to continue their nice run with an upset win here, but the Grizzlies have been sitting pretty at home since their last game and I think they can keep the good times rolling with another win and cover at this modest line.
