The Memphis Grizzlies and the Milwaukee Bucks do battle at the Fiserv Forum on Friday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies have cooled off from their seven-game win streak as they’ve lost three of their last five games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting beaten by the Pelicans in a 138-131 overtime road loss on Wednesday. Jaren Jackson Jr. led the team with 40 points, nine rebounds and four blocks, Dillon Brooks added 25 points while Desmond Bane chipped in with 24 points and five assists. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 48 percent from the field and 12 of 36 from the 3-point line as they blew a 19-point lead they built in the first half, before they managed just seven points in overtime to allow the Pelicans off the hook in the end.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in great shape as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after beating the Bulls in a 105-92 win on Wednesday. Bobby Portis led the team with 27 points and 13 rebounds on nine of 18 shooting, Brook Lopez added 26 points while Jrue Holiday tallied 20 points with 15 rebounds. As a team, the Bucks shot 42 percent from the field and 18 of 46 from the 3-point line as they found themselves in a contest after the Bulls rallied back from an early deficit to take the lead into halftime, before they dominated the second half by 56-41 to make it look easy in the end. Khris Middleton left the game after just eight minutes and did not return.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600 and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Bucks are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a win of more than 10 points and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a team above .600.
Head to head, the over is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings in Milwaukee and the Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The Grizzlies are missing Steven Adams and Santi Aldama again, while the Bucks have ruled out Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton. The Grizzlies have gone off the boil a bit lately, but with the Bucks resting all their best players, look for the Grizzlies to bounce back into form with a much-needed win here. The Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and I think they can get the job done on the road.
