The Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves duke it out at the Target Center on Tuesday night.
The Denver Nuggets have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their past 10 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a five-game slide after getting thrashed by the Bucks in a 136-100 road win on Sunday. Aaron Gordon led the team with 24 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Nikola Jokic racked up 18 points with nine rebounds and 15 assists while Monte Morris chipped in with 18 points and seven assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot a sizzling 60 percent from the field and 23 of 43 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start to take the lead into halftime, before exploding for 71 points in the second half to make it a complete blowout.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their past eight games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after making light work of the Jazz in a 126-106 home win on Sunday. Karl-Anthony Towns led the team with a triple-double of 31 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Jalen McDaniels added 22 points on nine of nine shooting off the bench while Anthony Edwards chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 55 percent from the field and 13 of 31 from the 3-point line as they held the Jazz to just 20 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before going on a decisive 26-9 run in the third quarter to put the game to bed early.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 8-18 ATS in their last 26 road games against a team with a winning home record and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Timberwolves are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Minnesota and the Nuggets are 23-4-1 ATS in the last 28 meetings in Minnesota.
The Nuggets are sweating on the availability of Nikola Jokic and DeMarcus Cousins who are both listed as questionable, while Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are both still out. The Timberwolves could be shorthanded for this one as D’Angelo Russell, Leandro Bolmaro, Josh Okogie and Patrick Beverley are all listed as questionable for this one. The Timberwolves are coming into this game with plenty of momentum and they are certainly favorites if Jokic is unable to suit up, so I’m taking the Timberwolves to get the narrow win and cover at home.
