The Minnesota Timberwolves play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Target Center on Thursday night. Here’s a Timberwolves vs Lakers Prediction.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last six games and they will be hoping for a better performance after getting thrashed by the Bulls in a 124-108 road loss last night. LeBron James led the team with 25 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, Anthony Davis added 19 points with 14 rebounds and two blocks, Austin Reaves provided the spark off the bench with 21 points on nine of 14 shooting while Taurean Prince chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Lakers shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start, falling behind by double-digits in the first quarter and things only got worse in the second half where the Bulls just ran away with it in front of a raucus crowd. D’Angelo Russell scored just nine points on three of 10 shooting while Cameron Reddish scored just four points on two of nine shooting.

Los Angeles Lakers Team Facts

  • The Lakers have lost each of their last six road games against Western Conference opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Lakers have failed to cover the spread in each of their last seven games on the second leg of a back-to-back.
  • Each of the Lakers’ last eight road games have gone OVER the total points line.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in great form as they’ve won nine of their last 11 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after having their three-game win streak halted by the 76ers in a 127-113 road loss last night. Anthony Edwards led the team with 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Karl-Anthony Towns added 23 points with 13 rebounds while Jaden McDaniels chipped in with 21 points on eight of 12 shooting. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 51 percent from the field and nine of 25 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the 76ers in a close contest, all the way until the 76ers went on a pivotal 13-2 run early in the fourth quarter to slip away in the end.

Minnesota Timberwolves Team Facts

  • The favorites have won each of the Timberwolves’ last 11 games.
  • The favorites have covered the spread in each of the Timberwolves’ last six games.
  • Seven of the last eight games between the Lakers and Timberwolves have gone UNDER the total points line.

Timberwolves vs Lakers Prediction

The Lakers have gone cold since winning the In-Season Tournament championship as they’ve lost four of six and they didn’t look good in last night’s loss to the shorthanded Bulls. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves were running through teams on a nightly basis before they got stopped in their tracks by the 76ers last night thanks to 51 points from Joel Embiid. This is the first meeting between these teams this season, so while I’m tempted to take the Lakers to bounce back here, I think the right play is on the more consistent Timberwolves who have won 11 of their first 12 home games so far.
