Maxey has increased responsibility on offense now when Joel Embiid is sidelined, and he fully delivered against the Jazz.
Tyrese recorded just one assist, which is quite odd for a point guard, but he served as a scoring machine instead. I expect a similar story against the Nets, although I don’t think he will have another 50-point display.
Still, Maxey will likely take 25+ shots and will log 40+ minutes, so I believe he can score 32+ points. Brooklyn has one of the weakest defenses when it comes to D against opposing point guards. The Nets allow 26.5 ppg to PGs, and league-high 3.7 threes per contest. Maxey should lead all the players in points here.
Kelly Oubre Jr. Over 22.5 Points and Rebounds (-110)
For the second pick in the Nets vs 76ers Player Prop Bets, I go with another Sixer. Kelly Oubre Jr. let me down the last time out when I backed him over 23.5 PTS and REB. He combined for 20, but I returned with the same bet tonight. The total is lowered a bit, which is a good chance for us to win the bet.
Oubre Jr. scored 15+ points in four consecutive games. I think he will do it again against the Nets, knowing that Embiid doesn’t play and that Oubre and Tobias Harris will play the second and third fiddle on offense behind Maxey. During that four-game stretch, Oubre Jr. logged 30+ minutes in each.
The Nets allow 21.5 ppg and 6.9 rpg to the opposing shooting guards this season.
