The Minnesota Timberwolves invade the Smoothie King Center to battle the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.

Minnesota Timberwolves Betting Preview

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in fine form as they’ve won six of their first nine games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the red-hot Rockets in a 117-107 road win on Wednesday. Ayo Dosunmu led the team with 21 points and six assists, LaMelo Ball added 20 points with six assists, Bones Hyland added 19 points off the bench while Jonathan Kuminga chipped in with 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 53 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to keep pace with the Rockets in a close contest, until Ball scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to spark the Timberwolves’ late surge.

New Orleans Pelicans Betting Preview

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans started their season with a four-game skid, but they are suddenly in great shape as they are now on a four-game win streak after sneaking past the Jazz in a 120-113 overtime win on Wednesday. Zion Williamson led the team with 23 points, Saddiq Bey scored 22 points on nine of 14 shooting off the bench while Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen each scored 20 points. As a team, the Pelicans shot 43 percent from the field and a miserly five of 20 from the 3-point line as they fell in trouble when they leaked 43 points in the third quarter to trail by 13 points, before they rallied all the way back and finished the job in overtime thanks to a balanced scoring effort.

Minnesota v New Orleans Free Prediction

The Timberwolves have ruled out Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo again with Terrence Shannon Jr listed as questionable, while the Pelicans have ruled out Yves Missi again.
The Timberwolves are coming into this contest with plenty of momentum after beating the surging Rockets on the road, but the Pelicans are also coming in hot after beating the Jazz on Wednesday for their fourth straight win. It’s hard to split these two teams because of the injuries on the Timberwolves side, but the Timberwolves won three of four meetings last season and I think that trend continues here. Give me the Timberwolves to stay hot with another win here behind a big game from Ball.
