The Sacramento Kings invade the Smoothie King Center to take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in decent form lately as they were riding a three-game win streak before falling just short to the Heat in a 105-104 road loss on Saturday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 30 points, six rebounds and six assists, Buddy Hield added 18 points while Marvin Bagley chipped in with 17 points on seven of eight shooting. As a team, the Kings shot 48 percent from the field and 17 of 45 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from an 11-point deficit to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, only to go scoreless in the final 1:43.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been in a slump as they’ve lost nine of their last 12 games, but they were riding a two-game win streak before getting stopped by the Rockets in a 126-112 home loss on Saturday. Zion Williamson led the team with 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Brandon Ingram and Eric Bledsoe each scored 15 points as they shot out of the gates to an early lead with 35 points in the first quarter, before getting steamrolled out of the game in the second quarter by 48-22.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a loss and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Pelicans are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a losing record and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games playing on one days’ rest.
Head to head, the over is 7-1 in the last eight meetings overall and the Kings are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings in New Orleans.
The Kings will be disappointed with their narrow loss to the Heat on Saturday, but they had won three in a row before that game so they’re starting to pick things up after a slow start to the season. You could say the same about the Pelicans who were starting to heat up before getting destroyed by the Rockets in that horrible second quarter. It’s tempting to go with the Pelicans at the short line at home but Steven Adams is listed as questionable for this one, so instead I’m going with the Kings who are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
