The Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder meet Thursday in NBA action at the Paycom Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Dallas Mavericks vs Oklahoma City Thunder prediction.

Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are starting to heat up again as they are now gunning for a fifth straight victory after taking down the Warriors in a 109-99 home win last night. Kyrie Irving led the team with 23 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, Luka Doncic tallied 21 points with nine assists while Daniel Gafford chipped in with 10 points and seven blocks. As a team, the Mavericks shot 53 percent from the field and six of 27 from the 3-point line as they kept the Warriors in check early, limiting them to just 15 points in the second quarter to take the early lead, before they poured in 33 points in the fourth quarter to pull away and win comfortably in the end.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in fine form as they’ve won 10 of their last 13 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this spot after having their three-game win streak halted by the Pacers in a 121-111 loss on Tuesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Luguentz Dort added 18 points while Chet Holmgren and Josh Giddey each scored 15 points. As a team, the Thunder shot 43 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get in a rhythm and had to work hard to cut a 16-point deficit to just one point in the fourth quarter before the Pacers went on a final push to see the Thunder finish on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Gordon Hayward scored just nine points in 30 minutes of action while Isaiah Joe finished with just six points on two of eight shooting off the bench.

Oklahoma City Thunder Team Facts

  • The Thunder have won each of their last 11 home games when playing with a rest advantage.
  • The Thunder have covered the spread in each of their last eight home games against Southwest Division opponents following a loss.
  • Each of the Thunder’s last eight home games against Southwest Division opponents have gone UNDER the total points line.

Dallas Mavericks Team Facts

  • The Mavericks have lost each of their last eight games on the second leg of a back-to-back against the Thunder.
  • The Mavericks have failed to cover the spread in each of their last eight games on the second leg of a back-to-back against the Thunder.
  • Each of the Mavericks’ last 10 night games against Western Conference opponents have gone UNDER the total points line.

Dallas Mavericks vs Oklahoma City Thunder prediction

The Mavericks are still missing Brandon Williams and Luka Doncic, while the Thunder are coming into this one with a full squad once again. The season series is currently tied a 1-1, but it was the Mavericks who romped to a 146-111 win over the Thunder back on Feb 10. It’s hard to split these two squads at the moment, but the Mavericks are playing their second game of a back to back set, so I’m leaning towards the Thunder to take advantage and come away with the win and cover at home in this spot.
