The Charlotte Hornets and the Orlando Magic duke it out at the Amway Center on Sunday night. Here’s a Hornets vs Magic Prediction.

Charlotte Hornets 

The Charlotte Hornets have really struggled to start the season, but they are now aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the lowly Wizards in a 117-114 win on Wednesday. LaMelo Ball led the team with 34 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists, Miles Bridges added 33 points with 10 rebounds while Mark Williams tallied 11 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Hornets shot 47 percent from the field and 16 of 37 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and trailed in this one by 19 points in the third quarter, before they flipped a switch and exploded for 39 points in the fourth quarter to overcome the deficit and earn the much-needed win at home.

Orlando Magic 

Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in red-hot form as they’ve won seven of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to build on their six-game win streak after making light work of the Celtics in a 113-96 home win on Friday. Moritz Wagner led the team with 27 points on nine of 13 shooting, Paolo Banchero added 23 points with seven rebounds and five assists while Franz Wagner chipped in with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Magic shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the 3-point line, but this was more about their effort on the defensive end as they trailed by 12 points early on, before they restricted the Magic to just 40 points in a dominant second half to make it look easy in the end.

The Magic are still shorthanded with Markelle Fultz and Wendell Carter Jr. still out, but they still come into this meeting as the team in better form and they will be full of confidence following Friday’s big win over the Celtics. The Hornets showed signs of life with two wins in a row, but I’m going to need to see more consistency from them before I pick them over the Magic who have been impressive since opening night. The line is a bit hefty, but I still think the Magic get the job done at home in this one.
