The Houston Rockets have been in poor form as they’ve lost nine of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after falling short to the Suns in a 110-105 road loss on Thursday. Jalen Green drained seven 3-pointers to lead the way with 34 points, Fred VanVleet added 21 points with six rebounds and five assists while Cam Whitmore chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Rockets shot just 33 percent from the field and 11 of 45 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and scored just 17 points in the first quarter to fall behind by as many as 21 points, which proved to be just enough as they couldn’t get closer than four points before they ran out of time.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in pretty good shape as they’ve won seven of their last 10 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Rockets on Thursday. Devin Booker led the team with 35 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Kevin Durant added 24 points with seven rebounds and six assists while Jusuf Nurkic chipped in with 16 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Suns shot just 40 percent from the field and 13 of 37 from the 3-point line as they got off to a flyer and jumped out to an early 21-point lead, before they survived a late rally from the Rockets who were able to make it interesting at the end.

The Rockets have been one of the coldest teams in the league, but they probably would’ve beaten the Suns if they didn’t get off to such a bad start. The Suns were just enough to get the job done against the Rockets on Thursday, but I don’t think they’re going to make the same mistake in this one. If the Suns get off to another quick start, I think it could be an ugly night for the Rockets.
