The Charlotte Hornets are looking to bounce back in this spot after having their four-game win streak halted by the Warriors in a 97-84 road defeat on Friday. Miles Bridges led the team with 19 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, Nick Richards and Brandon Miller each scored 11 points while Tre Mann chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Hornets shot just 36 percent from the field and 11 of 39 from the 3-point line as they struggled to make shots early and were always fighting an uphill battle after scoring a season-low 29 points in the first half. In fact, the Hornets trailed in this one by as many as 23 points at one stage and they got just six points out of Seth Curry who shot just two of eight from the field. The Hornets will meet the Bucks in a back-to-back set after this one.
Portland Trail Blazers
Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in a major slump as they’ve lost nine of their last 11 games overall and they will be aiming for an eighth straight win after blowing past the Nuggets in a 127-112 loss on Friday. Jerami Grant led the team with 25 points, Deandre Ayton added 22 points with 10 rebounds while Anfernee Simons chipped in with 21 points and eight assists. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 45 percent from the field and eight of 25 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Nuggets from the start, leaking 38 points in the second quarter to trail by as many as 22 points, before they poured in 35 points in the fourth quarter to keep the scores respectable.

The Hornets are coming into this one without any players on the injury report, while the Trail Blazers are still shorthanded with Scoot Henderson, Moses Brown, Malcolm Brogdon and Shaedon Sharpe all listed as out. The Hornets looked like a different team when they were riding a four-game win streak and I think they can return to that form against this slumping Trail Blazers squad who are missing almost all of their best players. This is a game I’d rather keep away from, but if I had to choose, I would side with the Hornets to get the win on the road.
