The Portland Trail Blazers play host to the Memphis Grizzlies at the Moda Center on Wednesday night.

The Memphis Grizzlies have cooled off since their hot start to the season as they’ve now lost two in a row after falling to the Jazz in a 121-105 road defeat on Monday. Ja Morant led the team with 37 points, five rebounds and four assists on 12 of 18 shooting, Dillon Brooks added 19 points while Tyus Jones chipped in with 12 points, but no other player scored more than eight points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot just 41 percent from the field and six of 26 from the 3-point line as they just couldn’t recover after getting outscored by 38-18 in a nightmare second quarter. Santi Aldama had a rough game of just three points on one of seven shooting while David Roddy scored just two points on zero of eight shooting off the bench.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in red-hot form as they’ve won five of their first six games and they will be looking to stay hot after making light work of the Rockets in a 125-111 win on Friday. Anfernee Simons led the team with 30 points and seven assists on 10 of 20 shooting, Jusuf Nurkic added 27 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks while Jerami Grant chipped in with 15 points, five rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot a healthy 53 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running and exploded for 69 points in the first half to take an 11-point halftime lead, before making another run in the third quarter to push the lead out to 18 points.

Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss, 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Trail Blazers are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a winning record, 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a win of more than 10 points and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.

Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Portland and the Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Grizzlies could be severely shorthanded for this one as they’re keeping an eye on Desmond Bane and Steven Adams who are both listed as questionable, while the Trail Blazers will be missing Josh Hart and Damian Lillard once again. The Trail Blazers have been one of the surprise teams of the league so far, but without their best player in Lillard, I don’t see them getting the win against a Grizzlies team coming off two losses in a row. Expect big games from Morant and Brooks as the Grizzlies bounce back into form with a win here.
