The Los Angeles Lakers travel to the AT&T Center to take on the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in a real slump as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games overall, but they will be eager to stay hot in this one after taking down the Warriors in a thrilling 124-116 home win on Saturday. LeBron James led the way with a season-high 56 points with 10 rebounds and three assists, Russell Westbrook added 20 points on nine of 17 shooting while Carmelo Anthony chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot 49 percent from the field and 18 of 41 from the 3-point line as they got off to a bad start and trailed by five points at halftime, before rallying in the fourth quarter where they poured in 35 points to pull away and escape with the much-needed victory. James was clearly in attack mode all night, but he was also efficient as he made 19 of 31 from the field and six of 11 from the 3-point line.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to put an end to a four-game slide after getting stopped by the Hornets in a 123-117 road loss on Saturday. Keldon Johnson led the team with 33 points on 14 of 24 shooting, Dejounte Murray added 25 points with nine rebounds and 10 assists while Devin Vassell chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 37 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Hornets in a tightly contested game all the way until the fourth quarter where the Hornets used a pivotal 7-0 run to slip away in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record, 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games as an underdog and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Spurs are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games, 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games playing on one days’ rest.

Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in San Antonio and the Lakers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in San Antonio.

The Lakers are still without Anthony Davis and Kendrick Nun, while LeBron James and Talen Horton-Tucker are both listed as questionable. The Spurs could also be shorthanded as Devin Vassell, Dejounte Murray and Keita Bates-Diop are all questionable for this one. A lot will ride on the availability of James in this one, but assuming that he doesn’t suit up, I’m leaning towards the Spurs to win in a close one.
