The Utah Jazz play host to the Houston Rockets at the Vivint Arena on Monday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in a real slump as they’ve lost eight of their past nine games overall and they will be hoping to snap a four-game slide after getting routed by the Raptors in a 139-120 home loss on Thursday. Kevin Porter Jr. led the team with 30 points and eight assists on 11 of 16 shooting, Garrison Matthews added 19 points, Jalen Green scored 18 points while Christian Wood chipped in with 17 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Rockets shot 52 percent from the field and 16 of 38 from the 3-point line as they got off to a flying start with 41 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, but their lack of size really cost them in this one as the bigger and taller Raptors looked completely comfortable in this one.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been building nicely as they will be gunning for a sixth straight victory after blowing past the Magic in a 114-99 home win on Friday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 24 points, Jordan Clarkson added 18 points off the bench while Royce O’Neale chipped in with 14 points and five assists. As a team, the Jazz shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 41 from the 3-point line as they opened the game on a 24-7 run to take the early lead, before exploding for 37 points in the fourth quarter to keep their win streak alive. Hassan Whiteside had a nice game of 15 points with 18 rebounds off the bench while Bojan Bogdanovic finished with just seven points on two of 12 shooting.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record and 7-21 ATS in their last 28 games overall. The Jazz are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.

Head to head, the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings overall, the under is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Utah and the Rockets are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in Utah.

The Rockets are still waiting on their new recruit Dennis Schroder to join the team, but the good news is that Eric Gordon is listed as probable for this one, while the Jazz will be sweating on the availability of Rudy Gay who is out and Rudy Gobert who is listed as questionable. This is the classic example of two teams headed in opposite directions, so the only question is the margin of victory for the Jazz. The Rockets are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in Utah and we’re getting plenty of points here, so I’m leaning towards the Rockets to hang around long enough to get the cover in the end.
