The Patriots look to build on Monday night’s dramatic come from behind win over the Broncos as they head into Reliant Stadium to take on the struggling Houston Texans.
The Patriots struggled in the worst way imaginable on Monday night against the Denver Broncos as the AFC West leaders raced out to a 24-0 half time lead that saw Brady and the Pats’ offense turn the ball over three times in the first quarter and put Peyton Manning and the Broncos in the driver’s seat. However, Bill Belichick and Brady are one of the best coach-quarterback tandems in league history for a reason as the Pats rallied to win the game in overtime and gave them a huge boost not only for the rest of the season but heading into the playoffs as well. New England heads to Houston to take on the Texans in what many foresaw as a possible Conference deciding encounter in the preseason but the Texans have been absolutely horrible and have losses to the Raiders and Jaguars on their resume this season. New England will be playing with a ton of confidence and motivation to catch the Broncos and Chiefs for top spot in the AFC and while they are on the road they catch a Texans team who is playing with absolutely no spark at the moment.

The Texans are in the midst of an awful nine game losing skid and could very well be 0-11 this season as they barely scraped by with two wins to start the year and if a bounce had gone the other way it could have set up a possible 0-16 season. Houston is without Arian Foster who has been shut down for the year with a bad back and they are opting to go with Case Keenum for the rest of the year as Matt Schaub seems to have worn out his welcome with his teammates, coaches, and fans. It is too bad for the Texans and their fan base as they still have a ton of talent on both sides of the ball but this hs been an absolute mess of a season and they could find themselves drafting in the top five instead of competing for a division title and at this rate that is exactly where they’re heading. I am a little weary of the Pats coming into this one and laying an egg as they play on a short week and will be filled with elation after their statement win over Denver but I just can’t trust the Texans right now even at home. However, getting more than a touchdown with a home team playing for pride against a team on a short week who still has some major question marks on offense and could be without Aqib Talib on defense looks too good to pass up and I think the Texans get the cover and could even pull off the outright victory.
