The Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers meet Sunday in NFL action from Lambeau Field.

Detroit is already in the division hole after a demoralizing 27-23 defeat in Week 1 by the Bears. As for the Packers, they got into a shootout with the Vikings but fared better, topping Minnesota 43-34 in a wild game. Detroit was on top for most of the game in Week 1 versus the Bears, carrying a 13-6 lead into halftime and a 23-6 edge into the fourth quarter. The Lions coughed up an unanswered 21 points in the final period to gift Chicago the victory.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford had a tepid game for Detroit in Week 1, going 24-for-42 with 297 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Adrian Peterson led the Lions rush on 14 carries for 93 yards, and Danny Amendola was the top receiver with five catches for 81 yards. TJ Hockenson also caught a touchdown there.

Over on the Packers’ side, they had a pretty wild outing in Week 1, but everything worked out for the best and the team got the W. Green Bay was up 29-10 heading into the fourth quarter, but gave up 24 points to make the game interesting. It’s a satisfying division win for the Packers, and one that could be very important down the road.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a nice day with a 32-of-44 line for 364 yards and four touchdowns. Aaron Jones led the Green Bay rushing attack with 66 yards and a score from 16 carries, and Davante Adams had a monster day on 14 catches, 156 yards and two scores. Rodgers’ other two passing touchdowns went to Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard, who also had solid games. Valdes-Scantling had four catches for 96 yards and a touchdown, and Lazard had four grabs for 63 yards and a score.

The Lions are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games in September and 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games as an underdog. Detroit is 2-7 against the spread in their last nine versus the NFC and 2-9 against the spread in their last 11 overall.

Meanwhile, the Packers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as a favorite and 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in September. Green Bay is 4-1 in their last five home games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games in Week 2.

Pick: Going Packers here. This line opened up pretty thin, considering each team’s Week 1 performance. It’s probably going to inflate further this week, but I’m pretty comfortable on Green Bay even at around two scores. The Packers put up a nice offensive display versus the Vikings, and Detroit probably doesn’t have the gas to keep up on the scoreboard.
