The Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans meet Tuesday afternoon in a Madden20 simulation game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have only one player ranked in the 90s, and that’s defensive end Calais Campbell, who comes in at a 95 overall. The Jaguars next two highest rated players is their center Brandon Linder at 87 and their kicker Josh Lambo at 85 overall. It’s a sign of a bad football team when the kicker is the third highest rated player. Running back Leonard Fournette is still a tough guy who is hard to bring down even in the video game and his 92 speed makes for a solid option, but other than that there’s just not a lot to get excited about. Quarterback Nick Foles is a 71 overall, meaning he dropped six rating points since the games launch. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team that even the diehard fans won’t play with in Madden20.

The Houston Texans have one of the best difference makers on both sides of the ball in wide receiver Deandre Hopkins (98 overall) and defensive end JJ Watt (97 overall). Both of those guys can takeover a game even in the virtual world and their awareness of 99 overall makes them reliable in games like this with the computer leading the way. The Texans also have a solid left tackle in Laremy Tunsil who is an 87 overall rating and a 91 awareness rating. Quarterback wise, the Texans have Deshaun Watson who has a 86 overall rating and an 88 acceleration rating, so he can kill defenses with his arm or legs. The x-factor for the Texans is wide receiver Will Fuller, who has a 95 speed rating and 93 acceleration rating, giving him the ability to take the top off a defense. Bottom line, the Texans are one of the more underrated teams in Madden20.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of those teams I’m not looking to back much in these simulations unless they’re getting so many free points its tough to turn down. The Jags just don’t have enough difference makers that makes them an attractive option in these simulations. The Houston Texans are one of my favorite teams personally in this game and they’ve cashed some nice tickets for us in past simulations.

Getting this line just under a full touchdown makes me lean toward the Houston Texans.
