The Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens clash Sunday night in week 2 NFL preseason action from University of Phoenix Stadium. This will be the second exhibition outing for both teams. The Ravens took a 13-point win over the Titans last week. As for Arizona, they’re coming off a 13-point win as well, theirs versus the Bengals. The Ravens were looking great after 11 games last year, sitting at 8-3 overall. Baltimore hit the skids late in the season however, finishing 8-9 thanks to a six-game losing streak (all by a combined eight points). That left the Ravens in the basement of the AFC North and out of the playoffs.

The Ravens started out the 2022 preseason with a victory over the Titans 23-10. Baltimore kept Tennessee off the scoreboard completely in the second half. QB Tyler Huntley finished with 109 yards and a score, while Shemar Bridges led the receivers on 62 yards and a TD from four grabs.

Over on the Cardinals’ side, they had a pretty solid regular-season run in 2021, going 11-6 overall for a second-place NFC West finish. Arizona earned a playoff spot (their first since 2015). In the Wild Card Playoffs however, the Cardinals fell to the Rams 34-11 to end their campaign.

In their first preseason activity versus the Bengals, the Cardinals performed pretty well. Arizona outscored Cincinnati 23-9 in the first half on the way to a 36-23 victory. QB Trace McSorely led the team on 163 yards and a score, while Jonathan Ward snagged a pair of touchdowns and 15 yards off six rushes.

PICK: I’m going to try the Cardinals here. Arizona did some great things against the Bengals in their first exhibition game, including holding a 36-9 edge after three quarters. The Cardinals had 23 first downs, zero turnovers, just two penalties and went 6-of-11 on third-down tries.

As for Baltimore, they controlled the Titans game pretty well with 389 total yards, 5.6 yards per play and 35:32 in time of possession. I like this one to be a fairly close matchup, with Arizona eking out a cover. Should be fun for a preseason game.
