Seattle Seahawks 

The Seahawks have a couple of big-scoring performances so far this year, but overall they’re getting the victories in a pretty well-rounded way. Seattle is in the middle of the pack in the NFL when it comes to touchdowns, posting 18 total—seven rushing and nine passing. The Seahawks have given up 15 on the other side in a near-even balance between run and pass. 

The Seahawks’ latest win came 24-20 over the Browns on Sunday. Seattle scored 17 points in the first quarter and stayed silent until the fourth in the comeback win. QB Geno Smith finished with 254 yards, two scores and two picks. Kenneth Walker added 66 yards rushing and Tyler Lockett led the receivers with 81 yards and a TD on eight catches.

Over on the Ravens’ side, they’ve been fairly consistent this year on offense—if not overpowering. Baltimore has 23 total TDs so far (with one extra game than most) with 14 coming on the ground. The Ravens are only giving up 4.6 yards per pass play though, which really helps the team keep opposing offenses in check. 

The Ravens took on the Cardinals in their matchup last weekend. Baltimore scored points in every quarter (and gave up 17 in the fourth on the other side) in a 31-24 win. Lamar Jackson managed 157 yards with a pass TD, but Gus Edwards did most of the work on 80 yards rushing and three scores. Mark Andrews added 40 yards and a TD off four catches.

I’ll probably stay with the Ravens here. You could make a case either way, though; if both teams play well we should have a great matchup on our hands. Baltimore is going to need to hit that 20-point mark in order to have a solid chance at taking a victory. The Ravens have been below 20 points just twice so far, both coming in losses to the Colts (OT) and Steelers. Baltimore has a nice 69 points combined over their last two games, so they’re on a solid run right now. 

Twenty is a key number for Seattle right now as well. They’ve managed 20 points or more in five of their seven games so far. The Seahawks defense has been good lately as well; they’ve given up 20 or fewer points in each of the last four games. This game could go a lot of different ways but it’ll likely be a lower-scoring affair. I like the Ravens to power out a cover at home in an entertaining matchup.
