The Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills meet Sunday in NFL action from Bills Stadium. Dallas comes into this matchup at 10-3 on the season so far. The Cowboys are riding a five-game win streak, most recently taking out Philadelphia. As for Buffalo, they’re 7-6 this year after a three-point win versus Kansas City on Sunday. Let’s get into our Cowboys vs. Bills prediction. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have recovered well after a sketchy 5-3 start, and they’re now averaging a nice 32.4 points per game on the season while giving up just 17.9 points per game on the other side. Dallas’ passing attack has generated 28 total touchdowns versus seven interceptions, while the run game is averaging 118.6 yards per outing with 12 scores.

Dallas notched another victory in their last matchup versus the rival Eagles. In that one, the Cowboys were up 24-6 by the break and cruised to the 33-13 finish by scoring in every quarter. Dallas got 271 yards and two scores from QB Dak Prescott, with 16 carries for 59 yards from Tony Pollard. Jake Ferguson added five catches for 72 yards.

Dallas Cowboys Team Facts

  • The Cowboys have won each of their last 10 games following a Division game.
  • The favorites have covered the spread in nine of the Cowboys’ last 10 games.
  • The Cowboys have scored the first touchdown in seven of their last eight games against AFC opponents.
  • The Cowboys have won the first quarter in each of their last six road games in December.
  • The Cowboys have won the first half in each of their last six road games in December.

Buffalo Bills

Over on the Bills’ side, it’s been an up-and-down campaign so far. Buffalo is averaging 26.8 points per game so far with 18.8 points per game allowed. In 13 games the Bills have scored 25 pass touchdowns with 14 interceptions alongside 122.0 yards per game on the ground and 15 rushing scores.

Buffalo was involved in a highly-competitive matchup versus the Chiefs on Sunday and came out on top. The Bills posted a late field goal in the fourth and held on for the victory 20-17. Josh Allen threw for 233 yards with one TD and one interception in that one, while James Cook led the rush on 58 yards. Cook was also tops in receiving with 83 yards and a TD.

Buffalo Bills Team Facts

  • The Bills have won each of their last eight games following a road win.
  • The Bills have failed to cover the spread in each of their last five games as home favorites against NFC opponents.
  • The Bills have won the first half in seven of their last eight home games against teams that held a winning record.
  • The Bills have lost the first quarter in three of their last four Sunday games as favorites.
  • The Bills have scored the first touchdown in 10 of their last 11 home games against NFC opponents.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Bills rank T2nd in the NFL in fumbles recovered this season (11).
  • The Bills are one of only two teams in the NFL to rank top 5 for both sacks and fumbles recovered this season.
  • The Cowboys rank 1st in the NFL in points per game this season (32.4).
  • The Cowboys rank 32nd in the NFL in average punt return this season (5.8 yards).

ANDREW’S FREE COWBOYS VS BILLS PREDICTION

I’ll probably just stay with the Cowboys. This will be an interesting matchup, though. Dallas is rolling along quite well these days. During this five-game win streak, the Cowboys have hit 33 or more points in every outing while allowing 17 or fewer points in four of them. In their latest win over the Eagles, Dallas again flexed their offensive muscle on 394 total yards (256 passing) and 24 first downs.

As for Buffalo, they’re coming off a gritty (and controversial) late win over the Chiefs for their second victory in three games. The Bills will have to step on the gas in order to keep up on the scoreboard here, and I don’t think they’ve got the legs to power out a cover/win on Dallas. It’ll be a fun one to watch, though.
