The New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills meet Sunday in NFL action from Highmark Stadium. Here’s a Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Bills vs Patriots pick.
New England Patriots Betting Preview
The Patriots skidded to losses versus the Seahawks, Jets, 49ers, Dolphins, Texans and Jaguars in their first seven games. After a 2-1 midseason run New England has since lost to the Rams, Dolphins, Colts and Cardinals.
Coming out of the bye week versus Arizona, the Patriots took a 13-3 deficit into halftime. New England scored 14 points in the fourth quarter but ended up losing 30-17. Drake Maye threw for 202 yards with a TD and a pick, while Kendrick Bourne caught three balls for 44 yards.
Buffalo Bills Betting Preview
Over on the Bills’ side, they opened the year on a spotty 3-2 run. Buffalo has since beaten the Jets, Titans, Seahawks, Dolphins, Colts, Chiefs, 49ers and Lions (with a lone loss to the Rams) in their last nine outings for an 11-3 record so far.
In Sunday’s game versus the Lions, Buffalo held a modest seven-point lead going into the third quarter. The Bills scored another 27 points in a high-flying 48-42 win. Josh Allen managed 362 yards with two scores (and two rush TDs). James Cook had 14 totes for 105 yards and two touchdowns of his own.
Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots Prediction
I’ll lean toward the Bills, but I’m probably not touching this one. Buffalo is cooking right now and coming off a nice road win over a very good Lions team. The Bills won in a high-octane (and relatively mistake-free) shootout, notching 559 yards with 28 first downs. The defense gave up 521 yards (473 passing) and 30 first downs along the way, though. Buffalo has posted 30 or more points in eight straight games now (a 7-1 run).
As for New England, they just can’t seem to score. The Patriots had some extra prep time for the Cardinals last weekend but still came up with just 17 first downs and 311 yards on offense (195 passing) for a measly 17 points. New England has been below 26 points in every game so far this year. On paper at least, there’s no way they’ll keep any kind of pace on the scoreboard during a road game versus Buffalo’s offense.
