The Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys meet Saturday in NFL action from AT&T Stadium. Philadelphia is sitting at a nice 13-1 overall. The Eagles beat Chicago in their last matchup. Philadelphia has just the one loss to Washington this year. Otherwise the Eagles have collected wins over the Lions, Vikings, Commanders, Jaguars, Cardinals, Cowboys, Steelers, Texans, Colts, Packers, Titans, Giants and Bears in succession.
Matched up against the Bears on Sunday, the Eagles were up 17-13 going into the fourth quarter. Philadelphia was able to hang on and took a 25-20 victory. Jalen Hurts threw for 315 yards and two picks, but also led the rush on 61 yards and three scores.
Over on the Dallas side, they went 5-2 over their first seven games this year with losses to only the Buccaneers and Eagles. Since then Dallas has hit another 5-2 stretch with losses to the Packers and Jaguars.
Dallas was sitting pretty with a 21-7 lead at halftime in the Jacksonville game last weekend. The Cowboys were outscored 27-13 from there and gave up a pick-6 in overtime for the loss 40-34. Dak Prescott posted three scores and two picks. CeeDee Lamb caught seven balls for 126 yards.
The Eagles are 5-0 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six in December. Philadelphia is 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are 6-1 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 versus the NFC. Dallas is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 versus the NFC East.
PICK: I’m going to stay with Philadelphia in this one. The Eagles had some trouble putting away a struggling Chicago team in their last game, posting three turnovers in the five-point win. Philadelphia had scored 35 points in three straight games prior to that.
As for Dallas, they gave up 503 yards and a season-high 40 points in the shocking loss to Jacksonville on Sunday, posting two picks along the way. That said, the Cowboys offense is still humming along with 27 or more points in seven straight games.
The last time these teams met up on October 16, Philly posted a 26-17 home win. Dallas shot themselves in the proverbial foot in that one with 10 penalties and three interceptions, however. That said, I still like the Eagles to pull off another victory/cover here. Should be a great game, though.
