The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Detroit Lions meet Sunday in NFL action from Ford Field. Jacksonville is 4-7 overall this year. The Jaguars beat the Ravens in their last game. As for Detroit, they’re 4-7 as well and coming off a loss to the Bills. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Jacksonville started off pretty well this year with wins over the Colts and Chargers in the first three games. The Jaguars lost to the Eagles, Texans, Colts, Giants and Broncos before a win over the Raiders. Jacksonville fell to the Chiefs in the next matchup.

On Sunday versus the Ravens, Jacksonville got their fourth win of the year. The Jaguars were down 12-10 going into the fourth quarter and emerged with a 28-27 win. Trevor Lawrence threw for 321 yards and three scores. Zay Jones caught 11 balls for 147 yards.

Over on the Detroit side, they lost six of their first seven games to the Eagles, Vikings, Seahawks, Patriots, Cowboys and Dolphins. The Lions beat the Packers, Bears and Giants in the next three outings.

Detroit’s win streak was halted last Thursday versus the Bills. The Lions scored 11 points in the fourth during a comeback attempt but ended up falling 28-25. Jared Goff managed 240 yards with two scores, and Jamaal Williams rushed for 66 yards and a TD.

PICK: The Jaguars are 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 in Week 13 and 5-13-1 ATS in their last 19 overall. Jacksonville is 2-7 ATS versus a team with a losing record.

Meanwhile, the Lions are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS win. Detroit is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 at home.

PICK: I’ll probably stick with Detroit here. This seems like something of a coin-flip proposition, though; you could make a great case either way, and it should be a competitive game. That said, the Lions are coming off a pretty solid effort against a good bills team, notching 326 total yards (96 rushing), 22 first downs and 6-of-15 on third-down tries. Detroithas been playing better over the last five weeks, and they’ve hit 25 or more points in four of those games.

As for Jacksonville, they put together a solid game versus the Ravens and that momentum should carry over to this week. I like this one to be close the whole way with Detroit eking out a cover.
