In this article we will formulate a Giants vs Patriots prediction for this NFL game on Thursday, August 21st at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this week three matchup in the preseason.Â
New York Giants Betting Preview
The New York Giants are 2-0 in the preseason after they defeated the Jets by a score of 31-12 last week. New York led 7-0 early in the first quarter and 7-6 at halftime, before scoring 17 points in the third quarter to pull away with the win. The Giants had their lead cut to 24-12 in the fourth, but added an insurance touchdown late in the game. New York out gained the Jets by a total of 478-333, went 5-9 on third down, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 2-1 in the win. Jaxson Dart went 14-16 for 137 yards and one touchdown, Jameis Winston went 6-11 for 110 yards, Russell Wilson went 4-7 for 108 yards and one interception, and Tommy DeVito went 3-4 for 52 yards and one interception. Tyrone Tracy rushed for 39 yards, while Beaux Collins caught one pass for 80 yards in the game. The New York defense was led by Dane Belton, who recorded seven total tackles, while Cloyd added the only tackle for loss.Â
New York won their first game of the preseason by a score of 34-25 over Buffalo. The Giants out gained Buffalo by a total of 396-389, went 9-19 on third down, and won the turnover battle 1-0. In this game against the Patriots, I anticipate New York playing Dart and DeVito for the majority of the game, as Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston don’t really need any more reps.Â
New England Patriots Betting Preview
The New England Patriots are 2-0 so far in the preseason after they defeated Minnesota by a score of 20-12 in their last game. New England led 7-0 after the first quarter and 14-3 at halftime, but they failed to score in the third quarter. The Patriots did manage six points in the fourth and they played great defense to seal the win. New England out gained Minnesota by a total of 314-273, went 12-20 on third down conversions, and won the turnover battle by a total of 2-0. Joshua Dobbs went 11-16 for 106 yards and one touchdown, Ben Wooldridge went 7-13 for 55 yards, and Drake Maye went 4-7 for 46 yards in the win. JaMychal Hasty rushed for 47 yards on 11 carries, while Efton Chism III caught six passes for 71 yards and one touchdown. The NE defense was led by Kobee Minor, who recorded six total tackles, while Jennings totaled three sacks in the game.Â
New England defeated Washington by a score of 48-18 in their first preseason game of the year. The Patriots were actually out gained by a total of 338-327, went 7-14 on third down conversions, and won the turnover battle 2-1. In this matchup with the Giants, I don’t think we will see Drake Maye under center, so we should see plenty of Ben Wooldridge and maybe a little of Josh Dobbs.Â

Giants vs Patriots PredictionÂ
Both of these teams come into this matchup with undefeated records in the NFL Preseason and even though it means very little, you know each side will want to stay undefeated here. It is never easy to know who will play in the third preseason game of the year, but I think the Giants have a pretty big quarterback advantage, as I think Wooldridge will play the bulk of the snaps for New England. This is a huge number for a preseason game, but I will lay the points with the Giants, unless there is some late breaking quarterback news.Â
